Lily-Ray by Karen Condon - "Karen Condon has an MFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She recently won the Glimmer Train Short Story Award for New Writers. Another of her stories will appear in Story Quarterly December 2011."
She wrote the stories in Are You a Survivor duringand after her treatment for breast cancer in 2001 and 2002. The titlerefers to a question she was asked at a breast cancer support group theday after her diagnosis. She lives in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Only Child by Jennifer Bouchard - Jennifer Bouchard is a writer and high school English teacher. She has
writtennumerous articles on education and literature for EBSCO Publishing. Herwork also has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor. She received aB.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, anM.Ed.in English from Framingham State College, and is currentlypursuing an M.F.A in Professional Writing at Western Connecticut StateUniversity. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband anddaughter.
